Must Know: New Provider Enrollment System for Adult Long-term Care

Reminder: Adult Long-Term Care Provider Trainings

Starting in September 2024, providers enrolled with Wisconsin Medicaid can add adult long-term care (LTC) waiver services and programs to their profile using the ForwardHealth Portal. You can attend a training in September 2024 to learn how.

Wisconsin’s adult LTC waiver programs are Family Care, Family Care Partnership, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct).

The trainings explain the enrollment timeline, how to add waiver services and waiver programs, and provide additional resources. The content of each training will be the same, so you will only need to attend one session, but you are welcome to attend more than one.

The trainings for the next two weeks will be held online through Zoom at the dates and times listed below. Click the date that works best for you to register:

These trainings are being offered to support the required enrollment of adult LTC waiver services providers with Wisconsin Medicaid through the Portal. You can find the complete training schedule (PDF) and more information on the New Provider Enrollment System for Adult Long-Term Care page of the Portal. A training session will be recorded and retained on the Trainings page of the Portal.

Spread the word! If you know someone who would benefit from adult LTC provider enrollment information or is interested in the new enrollment process, please share these opportunities with them and encourage them to sign up for the Adult LTC Waiver Provider email subscription list.

Beginning September 2024, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) will require providers of adult long-term care (LTC) waiver services to enroll with Wisconsin Medicaid through the ForwardHealth Portal. DHS requires all providers to be certified by Wisconsin Medicaid as described in Wis. Admin. Code ch. DHS 105.

DHS is creating a centralized system to standardize, streamline, and automate the ForwardHealth enrollment process for adult LTC waiver services providers. The system will allow you to submit all information necessary to enroll with Wisconsin Medicaid. The new process is for those who provide services listed in the DHS MCO contract or the IRIS Service Definition Manual to adults who are older, have a physical disability, or have an intellectual or developmental disability.

As an HCBS provider, you have questions and want more information.

Background

If you are a provider that only offers adult LTC waiver services, you will need to enroll for the first time using the Portal system. If you are an existing Medicaid provider who also offers adult LTC waiver services, you will need to log in to the Portal and add LTC waiver programs and services to your current provider record.

DHS is excited to share this video to introduce you to the basics of the project and help you understand how the project will affect providers.

Note: In communications related to this initiative describing enrolling with Wisconsin Medicaid, DHS may refer to providers who serve adults who are older, have a physical disability, or have an intellectual or developmental disability as adult long-term care waiver services providers or home and community-based waiver services (HCBS) providers. These terms also apply to agencies, organizations, vendors, and sole proprietors who provide services as listed in the DHS MCO contract and/or IRIS Service Definition Manual

The E-mail Subscription Sign-up page of the Portal has an email subscription list called Adult LTC Waiver Provider. DHS encourages you to sign up for this list to get an email each time a new Adult Long-term Care Update has been published, as well as receive notifications about upcoming provider enrollment trainings.

This Update is part of a series for all providers of home and community-based services delivered under one of Wisconsin’s adult long-term care (LTC) waiver programs. Adult LTC waiver programs include Family Care, Family Care Partnership, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct).
